Hello,
Here are the questions physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants ask most before (and after) they train to offer the O-Shot® procedure. If yours isn’t here, call the office at 888-920-5311. Hope this helps. — Charles Runels, MD
About the training
What is O-Shot® training?
It’s the official training, from Dr. Runels, who invented the procedure, in how to use platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from a woman’s own blood to help with sexual function and urinary incontinence, using our proven protocol. You learn online at your own pace. When you pass an online test, you’re licensed to use the O-Shot® name and listed in our provider directory so patients can find you.
Who can train?
Rules about who may perform PRP procedures vary by state. Please check your state board’s guidelines to confirm the procedure is within your scope of practice.
Is the training online or hands-on?
Both are available. The online course includes video lectures on female sexual dysfunction and detailed videos showing exactly how to do the procedure. If you’d like to practice with live models and talk marketing in person, we also hold hands-on workshops. See the next workshop dates here.
What’s included?
- Video lectures about sexual dysfunction in women
- Step-by-step instructional videos for the O-Shot® procedure
- Consent forms and protocols
- A list of the materials you need, and where to get them
- Support from other providers, and my personal cell phone number
- Our weekly Journal Club with Pearls & Marketing
- The chance to take part in our clinical trials
- A listing in the official O-Shot® provider directory after you pass the online test
- And more. Go here to see the full list of benefits of joining the CMA and learning our O-Shot training.
How do I become certified and listed in the directory?
Study the material, then take an online test. Once you pass, you’re licensed to advertise using the O-Shot® name and listed in the provider directory, which is where patients look for a certified provider near them.
Do I also learn the Clitoxin® procedure?
Yes. The provider application covers both the O-Shot® and the Clitoxin® procedures. The Clitoxin® procedure uses botulinum toxin (with or without PRP) to improve the health and function of the female orgasm system. Priapus Shot® training for men is available as an add-on when you apply.
Is there CME?
No, our trainings do not count for CME.
Cost, guarantee, and membership
How much does O-Shot® training cost?
O-Shot® training costs $997 for the online training. There are also other packages, like our CMA All Access Pass, that you can inquire about. Reach out to us for more information.
When does the monthly fee start?
It depends on how you train. With online training, the $97 monthly licensing fee starts 30 days after you sign up. With a hands-on workshop, it starts 3 months after the workshop.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. If you aren’t approved as a provider, your money is refunded. And if you decide the training isn’t helping you help your patients, you get a complete and cheerful refund for any reason. You have 90 days.
Can I cancel the monthly fee?
Anytime, with no penalty. You can keep doing the procedure; you just can’t advertise it as the O-Shot® (or Clitoxin®) anymore or use the name, since that name is reserved for providers who stay current with the Cellular Medicine Association.
Why does the name matter? Can’t I learn an “O-Shot” anywhere?
Only providers licensed by the Cellular Medicine Association may advertise the O-Shot® procedure. The trademark is how patients know you’re doing the procedure the way the research supports, and our procedure keeps evolving as data comes in. It’s also why only licensed providers appear in our directory.
Can I teach the procedure to others?
Not without written permission. Membership gives you the right to perform and advertise the procedure, not to teach it. Full details are in the provider agreement.
After you join
What do I get as a member of the Cellular Medicine Association?
More than most members use. Your membership includes a free marketing or question consult, our weekly Journal Club with Pearls & Marketing (JCPM), the step-by-step marketing course on the membership site, and your listing in the provider directory so patients can find you. See all the benefits here.
What is the Journal Club?
Every week I go over new research, answer members’ clinical questions, and share practical marketing pearls, live. Every session since 2018 is recorded and transcribed on the membership site. Bring your questions; it’s the best place to ask them. See the Journal Club.
How do I update my directory listing?
Simply navigate to the update profile page, which can be found underneath the dashboard in the menu once logged in to the membership site.
I’m moving my practice to another state. What do I need to do?
You can reach out to us to update your listing for you, or update your listing on the update profile page as well.
I can’t log in, or I need to reset my password.
You can navigate to oshot.info/members/login and select the Reset Password button. You can also reach out to us, and we can help you reset your password as well.
My membership lapsed. Can I be reinstated?
You can be reinstated. Reach out to us, and we can help you.
Someone says they’re endorsed by Dr. Runels and wants to sell me supplies. Are they?
Well, we do have partners. Most of those can be found inside the membership site. It’s best to check with us if you have any questions about supplies or vendors that we recommend.
Your emails keep landing in my spam folder.
Because we talk about sex, the filters sometimes catch us. Once a week or so, search your spam folder for “O-Shot” and drag our messages out. Adding our address to your contacts helps.
